Hottest Day Ever

Dear Lord, please turn down the furnace in southern California. It is way too hot to think, move, breathe, love, and even sleep!! I would however like to thank you for the bounty from the garden. From which I will make a delicious bruschetta and then have a bottle of wine. Bon.

Spending the weekend in LA for a lovely wedding has me thinking about a million and seven things in life. For now however I am practicing Il bel far niente... in Italian... The art of doing nothing. You should try the same....

See you in Seven

I am going off the grid for the next seven days. To live for one week with the technology available in 1975 means no text, no email, no t.v, no starbucks, no music in my car, no facebook, no blog. I am unplugging completely in for a new story and in hopes of jump starting some more creativity in my life. With mercury falling out of retrograde and this new moon moving into a more favorable house for myself I think I will be entering into a new phase of progress. See you in Seven....

I can't Help it.

Jealousy, being the strange strange creature that it is, lives in the recesses of the most mundane moments. And sometimes it is harder to address why we feel the way we feel than it is to feel the feeling itself.

just passing through

she wondered where you were going. where you had been. and why it had been seven years since the last time the night slid through your fingers together. time as strange as it is, seems to be both a friend and foe to moments like this. she had written about this before. she had pinned it to the wall above her bed and painted flowers around it. your rings told stories she would never hear and thankfully the noise of the crowded bar did wonders to drown out the awkward silences and long gazes that no one else bedside you would have noticed. at any rate. here or there. now or then. it is always nice to see you and your eyes.
