A Toast.

This is a toast to 2010, my have you been lovely to me. I have to say that without a doubt this year has been the biggest for me yet. I feel like everything I have worked for has culminated in this past year giving me more happiness, creativity, and love than I could have ever hoped for. It has also had me more lost, and confused than I have ever known myself to be, but hey it's all a part of the journey.

Cheers...
 To trying my luck...
To my best friends, may we always feel this pretty.
To the arrival of Atropa Belladonna, for my life will never be the same. I love you.
To all the good looking men in my life.
 For that smile.
 and for scotch.
 To being smart.
 Mostly, to being finished.
 To being 24 and happy.
 To love.
To old friends in familiar places.
 To Maggie and that snowstorm.
 For Forever.
To the Mont Blanc and Percy Shelly.
To being naked in the Mediterranean.
 To eating in France
 and to smoking in Amsterdam
 To dreaming...

With Love, Rose Blacque.

Expostulation and Reply

Expostulation and Reply -William Woodsworth

"WHY, William, on that old grey stone,
Thus for the length of half a day,
Why, William, sit you thus alone,
          And dream your time away?

"Where are your books?--that light bequeathed
To Beings else forlorn and blind!
Up! up! and drink the spirit breathed
From dead men to their kind.

"You look round on your Mother Earth,
As if she for no purpose bore you; 10
As if you were her first-born birth,
And none had lived before you!"

One morning thus, by Esthwaite lake,
When life was sweet, I knew not why,
To me my good friend Matthew spake,
          And thus I made reply:

          "The eye--it cannot choose but see;
          We cannot bid the ear be still;
Our bodies feel, where'er they be,
Against or with our will. 20

"Nor less I deem that there are Powers
          Which of themselves our minds impress;
That we can feed this mind of ours
          In a wise passiveness.

"Think you, 'mid all this mighty sum
          Of things for ever speaking,
That nothing of itself will come,
But we must still be seeking?

"--Then ask not wherefore, here, alone,
          Conversing as I may, 30
I sit upon this old grey stone,
          And dream my time away,"

my nature.

The Skinny

I do not care what they tell you, Skinny is the new Skinny. I know that some of you are still riding the coattails of excuses from the holidays, but it's over. The holidays are over. So throw out your left overs, put down those homemade hand delivered cookies, and vanquish your figgy pudding my friends!! Nothing will ever taste as good as being skinny feels. Why wait until the first of the new year to start your resolutions to be healthy and exercise? Why wait when right now happens to already be here today?
Here's some thinspiartion for you :)

No!

in case you didn't know what figgy pudding was. this is what you should vanquish.

Let The Sunshine In

Woke up this morning to a beaming blue sky outside my poorly insulated window! I have been missing and waiting for the sun since I came home from Minneapolis. Let it be known that this marks the start of something and the end of something else. Though I cannot share what those things are, be happy in the cycle and the flow of the universe for the sake of all. Let your sunshine in, no matter where you may be.
